The history behind Thanksgiving
Originally celebrated as national holiday in Canada , Thanksgiving falls on the second Monday in October and is seen as a day to give thanks for the harvest season. The day is also usually referred to as Turkey Day due to the inclusion of a roast turkey being served up as a meal on the day. People usually celebrate the day with family and loved ones sharing delicious and traditional meals. Popular meals prepared include cranberry maple carrots, roast turkey, lemon cream cheese pie with berries, pumpkin pie and candied sweet potatoes.
